New Mexico was my first home…..and I always assumed that I would end up back there. Between then and now I have been married, raised children, went to the University of Colorado, worked as a geologist, back to school and became a high school teacher. By then I was in Jackson, Wyoming, and in order to stay in this place I called home I did as most Jacksonites did–worked at an array of jobs. I found my niche when I started working for nonprofits dedicated to protecting wildlife and the environment. And all the while, I spent as much time as possible outdoors. I skied, backpacked and kayaked. I learned to know flowers and wildlife. I built my community around the strong interests I had in my environment. I am continuing that love of place, but searching to find where that place might be.
